OMG! Hasif's parents are seriously damn scary!! o.o

Okay. I just had to say that, especially after what happened yesterday. xD It was way too freaky...

Haha. I'm still hyper even after OBS. And I got to thank my group for being so bloody hyper ALL THE TIME!!! xD

Livingstone Ke Mama
Ole Ole Ah.. ah
Livingstone Ke Mama
Ole Ole Ah.. ah
Shake it up
Yeah
Shake it up
Yeah
Oooo....Livingstone!

Why Livingstone? Cuz we're not dead, even if we stone! xD

Supposedly formal photo. xP In order from left to right starting from the back:
Me, Jun Cheng, Daniel Yeo, Jia Hao, Benny,
Raj, Brandon, Ridwan, Simon, Rachel, Pamela, Yi Liang, Daniel Lim
Shona, Aisyah, Li Ping (Our instructor)

Informal photo. xD In order from left to right starting from the back:
Jia Hao, Daniel Lim, Raj, Yi Liang, Danial Yeo, Brandon, Me, Simon, Rachel,
Li Ping (Instructor), Jun Cheng, Ridwan, Benny, Pamela, Aisyah, Shona

This particular OBS Camp is like a combined NCC + NPCC Camp under a whole different organisation. =P But who knew NPCC is so much fun? =D

I definately enjoyed myself. And so did Hasif. xD

Oh ya. We were separated into two different groups. I was in Livingstone and he was in Amudsen. Don't ask why the group names are so weird. It's already like that. =.= There's one group named Bo Seng and another Rajaratnam. xD Lol...

Night Before

NCC made us stay overnight at Amoy Quee before heading to OBS the next day. Dont know why they wanted us to do that. But it happened for every batch sent to OBS by NCC. =S

Haha. Anyways, packed late that afternoon. Chiong-ed to barber so that my annoying long hair wont be a disturbance during the camp. Then chiong to Eunos to buy some last min stuff. Then chiong iron clothes. Haha.

Supposed to meet Hasif at 6pm at Kembangan MRT but I met him at 6.40pm. xD But it's okay because we reached Yio Chu Kang at 7.20pm. And we reached Amoy Quee at 7.40pm, which is 20 min earlier. Got another group of St Andrews ppl there and another group of Choa Chu Kang Sec ppl. And all of us don't know where to meet, so we all just stone by the road side in Amoy Quee for like an hour until all 88 ppl are stoning there, then one CLT asked uss what we were doing and he told us to fall in. =.=

Haha. Anyways, that night was damn slack la. Hasif claimed it as the 2nd slackest time he had in HQ, with first being during the BB Adventure Race Quest thingy.... =/ Haha. We got some night snacks and given our bunks by 9. Then got nothing to do until the next morning. =.= Haha. I spammed handphone there and went to sleep.

Hasif: I thought after Senior Spec Course we said we would never come back to HQ NCC again... =/

Meep.

Day 1

Woke up fresh in the morning, brush teeth and assembled by 7. The breakfast then we all ciao to Punggol Jetty.

Stoned there till 9 plus because there was only 2 ferries to ship not only us, but also some other people, including the NPCC peeps... =.=

Reached OBS Camp 2, and then got split up into our groups. Then got camp breifing and then icebreakers. Details of camp not given, claiming that it would be spoilers as to what's up ahead. =.= We were told also that the camp is mainly about expanding your comfort zone, into the challenge zone, but not too far into the danger zone. ^^

Haha. So icebreakers. There were only 14 of us then, cuz Aisyah came in to our group late. We played a stupid game where we had to write your name on a paper, then introduce yourself to someone else, then trade papers, and now that person has to introduce whatever you just said to another person, then trade, and the game goes on.... =.= Lol. Quite fun la.

Pamela:Hi! I'm Rachel. I like to eat Anything. And I like to do Whatever.

Then we got our store room with our tent stuff, cooking stuff and other camping stuff there. Then we got our 5 day food ration, which is more than two containers full of food. =/ Haha.

We had lunch. Which is just some Kaya buns and Muesli Bars. Then on to the first activity! Kayaking! =D

It was then that Aisyah suddenly came. So with 15 people instead of 14, we all can't kayak on doubles. Then everyone pin-pointed me to take the only single kayak, because I was the only one in my group with 2-Star Kayaking Cert. =.= Can't be helped since I'm the only Sea person there. So I agreed. ^^

Kayaking was fun. xD Since two of us never kayaked before, we're back to basics! Recapped the basic strokes, then went for buoyancy test ^^, after which we had that ever enjoyable capsize drill. xP Haha. Then recapped T-Rescue. =D So fun. Especially since I'm on a single kayak. -.-

After all that was done, we did that that 'Standing on Kayak' thingy, which is okay and all if you're on a double kayak. =.= Haha. No choice. Joined in. Got capsized on the first try along with Pamela and Shona. xD 2nd try, all managed to stand up stably, except for Pamela, for when she tried standing up, she let go of the raft, and hence causing the kayak to lose balance and hence capsizing.

Had to rescue them. But by then, we already drifted into the channel! Our instructor told us to bring them closer to shore then resume. But Shona accidentally let go of her kayak when Pamela went in to the kayak, so I had to send her closer to shore using that 'Save the Drowning Swimmer Koala' technique. xD Then resumed rescue.

Haha. But quite suay la. When kayaking with someone on your bow, the kayak got a whole lot heavier and I sprained my lower arm whilst kayaking. =( On the first day, got injury already.... =.= Haha.

We finished everything by 5. Then we went to shower. But since Camp 2 is like super old, the toilets and showers are really 'traditional', but only up to Mawai toilet standards, thank God! =D

Haha. Then dinner. We had to cook our own rice, so it took a while. So we pitched our tents whilst cooking, then ate by our campsite by the sea. ^^ The rice not bad, first time cooking, but it was with the instructor's help. xD Haha...

After dinner, we had to pack for the 2nd day's outing, of which we shall leave Camp 2 and shall not return until Day 4 evening. So we had to pack our clothes, food, ponchos, tents and stuff into the bags conveniently given to us for that purpose. But the bags were like freaking big, so I didn't want to carry it. xD Volunteered to carry the tent bags instead since they are smaller even though they're like TONS heavier.

Then bedtime. Had quite a nice first night there la. =D

Day 2

Woke up at 5-ish. Resumed packing. Then PT! Which is like 2 games and 1 set of 5BX of 10 Push-ups, 10 Crunches, 10 Back-raises, 10 Squats, and 10 Calf Raises. =.= The games I can't remember. But I recall one of them is like twister where the instructor gives us one body part and a colour, and we had to place our body part on another person's clothes or shoes of that colour. And since I'm prominently wearing yellow in the VS PE shirt, I was a MAJOR target when they said "left ear, yellow". T_T

Lol. Anyways, after that, we unpitched our tents, then went for breakfast. And after the final packing is all done, we set out for OBS Camp 1, via hiking. =.= It's around 200m to 400m away, which is okay la, but with our heavy bags, it was a great burden. But that didn't crush our spirits, as we cheered out loud during the hike out to Camp 1.

Camp 1 is made in 1997, so it's really new and stuff. And the toilet rocks! xD Lol.

Went to the MPH for some reflection time and some bonding time where we made a Livingstone cheer. And we cheered other crap stuffs too. xD

We went to play some games at the MPH there with another group; Raleigh. First was the number punch game where numbers are laid on the floor randomly and we had to punch the numbers in order without talking in the fastest time possible. Raleigh got 22sec, but we got 18sec!! =D

Then we had to play Giant Skip, which is like a long rope, and everyone had to stand in one line and skip together. xD Haha. We had 10 min of practice time and 5 min of execution time. The winner is the group who could jump the most times consecutively. Raleigh jumped a maximum of 2 times consecutively, but we did 8 times!!! xD We were all stunned. Haha.

Then we had to play this moon ball game, which is quite a stupid game that I don't want to explain. But this was done with both groups together, claiming that if two groups do things separately they could do things good, but if both groups do things together, they could do things better. =D

Haha. After which, we were named RaleighStone whenever together. But we objected saying that LivingLeigh sounds so much better. xD Haha.

Then photo time! Followed by lunch. Then we changed to wet attire. Wore the same thing I wore the day before for kayaking; long sleeve and long pants. =.= So uncomfortable, but it's to prevent sunburns, so it's okay I guess. =/ Good thing I brought my face towel and cap too, cuz I can protect my neck and my head/face. xD Haha...

Then we brought all our barang barang to a motor boat which the instructors use as safety boats. =.= We had to row boats.

Rowing a boat is super fun! ^^ Is completely different than rowing a dragonboat because when rowing a boat, the rowers will be facing the stern. Haha. We got 4 boats. 2 boats per group and since there were 15 of us. We split into groups of 8 and 7. Since there are 4 oars, there are 4 rowers, 1 rudderman, 1 navigator at the bow, and another one enjoying the view. =.= Haha... But that time was to practice rowing, which we did okay after a while.

Then we had Man Overboard drills at a place called Nina Bay (I think?), but we just call in Minah Bay. xD Out of the three buoyancies thrown into the water, our boat managed to get one. xD Haha.

The weather then was super hot and sunny. So our wet attire were all dried and stuff. xD Haha. The PM was there too that day. So we were stoning at Minah Bay under the hot sun whilst waiting for him to pass by in a boat. T_T Hah. Then I saw Hasif rafting past us in a cute little raft, where the sides were paddling and the back ppl were kicking the water back. xD Haha. Then we saw the PM's boat. During his encounter, we just waved and shouted Hi!

Then we rowed past by Minah Bay, past Camp 2 and to a place called the Asian Granite Quarry (AGQ), where we camped out there. And since the place was not under OBS, it's unsafe. So we had to do sentry duty at night. =(

Had instant noodles for dinner. Then we went to sleep. My shift was from 12.30 to 1.30. But none of us had a watch so we just went to call out the next group after we feel 1 hour has past by. xD Haha...

But the place is like 100% rock, so we were literally sleeping at rocks and because of the high concentration of sulphur withing the soil, we couldn't insert the pegs into the ground to add tension to the tent. We had no choice but to use rocks to stabilise the tents, but the rocks itself was unstable, so the tents were really unstable. x( It was really scary at night when it feels as if the tents are gonna collapse on you... And the no toilets thing, it's very disturbing to pee in the bush, even for the females. xD

Day 3

We were supposed to leave the campsite by 6.30. But because of some 'reasons', we were delayed till 7. It is Sea Expedition Day, where we had to row our boats around the whole island of Pulau Ubin.

Like everything else, it as uber fun. ^^ And so memoriable.

First part was okay, we're in our diamond formation, and we let those who are kayaking for the epedition to go ahead. We rowed the boat halway through past Ketam Island and we had our breakfast there.

Breakfast boost! And we spured on. Not long after, it started raining, and everyone was like screaming, "Poncho!" xD

But we still went on. But went closer to shore for safety reasons. Then the rain lighten and we reach Check Jawa, which is the Eastern part of the Island and also the longest stretch of unsafe route of which we had to row non-stop for safety reasons. But the it resumed raining - heavily in fact. And with rain peircing your skin, we were slowed down, even more thanks to the current which is against us. >.<

It continued raining all the way back to Camp 1. So our proposed lunch by the north side of the island was wrapped up quickly because if we stayed there too long, the drift will push us back. D: Then we met up with the kayakers, who are struggling to go against the current. xD Haha. Quickly wrapped up lunch in the rain where a few paddle, and the rest eat.

Lunch boost! By then our formation went haywire, as we were the first, when we're supposed to be the starboard side of the formation. =.= Haha. We just continued on.

Zai Banana. That was what we named ourselves in that boat. Me, Jia Hao, Jun Cheng, Benny, Pamela, Rachel and Danial Lim. xD Haha.

But after a while though, things started to get boring. So we shared cheers amongst ourselves. So fun. ^^ We cheered the Titanic one, Flea Fly, Carpenter Song, Campfire Song Song, Barney Song, Elmo's World Song, Fruits Cheer and even did the Green Bottles cheer, which we changed to Grey Paddles xD Wakaka... We did a LOT more cheers because it was a long way back. So fun. Even counted up all the way to the hundreds because of boredom. xD We even made up our own cheers. xP

Are you thinking what I'm thinking B1?
I think I am B2.
It's rowing time!

Seven bananas rowing on a boat,
Seven bananas rowing on a boat,
And if one banana should fall into the sea,
There'll be six bananas rowing on a boat.

Lol.

There was a point in time where the rain was super depressing and everyone was tired, but suddenly we screamed out various things you can't find at OBS to spur us on. xD Haha. We were all, McSpicy, McFlurry, McWings, Starbucks, Caramel Frap, Java Chip, KFC, Burger King, Mos Burger, Subway, Carls Jr., Sakae, TOILET!!! xD Haha.

Indeed memoriable. Then I suddenly had to go pee. We heard another boat, their timing was, "1, 2, Pull!" and it sounded like "Want to poo!" so we made our own timing of "Want to Pee!" xD Haha. We rested a bit when the rain lightened, I just overboard to do business. T_T Wonder if anyone did big business there, then maybe you can see the droppings floating on the sea. xD Haha....

The it rained again. By then we rechanged our formation because one boat was lagging behind. We were now the Sweeper or the last one, because we were the fastest. xD Then our bailer went overboard THREE TIMES because the rudderman was bailing like siao due to the heavy rain. Haha. Had to back paddle back and forth to retrieve it thrice. xD So fun.

Then we saw this Oil Rig which is labelled and named, "Petrobras", which sounds a lot like Petrol Bra. T_T Jun Cheng suddenly got all excited and stuff and literally fell backwards on the boat. xD Lol.

We reached Camp 1 - in the rain still. And we quickly went for shelter, to bathe and stuff. Hah. They had this cool waterfall on the grand stand becasue there's no pipes there and all the water is flowing down the stairs. Looks cool actually. xD Lol.

After that, my left wrist, my left lower arm and my right for arm, all kena sprained and strained. >.< Haiz... Oh wells. At least the Camp 1 toilet is nice, even though there's only 3 shower cubicles.

We made it back to Camp 1 by 4.30pm, which was surprising since we'd expected to reach at around 6 or 7. =/ The route taken was apparently longer than what Nawawi paddled for AKE Mini-Expedition. Obviously, the Mini-Ex was longer, but they gave up along the way, so it's still considered short. xD

Dinner was provided that day in the Cook's House. Finally a nice meal. xD THen some reflection time and sing-a-long session, where we had to sing the OBS Song. They said that since we're good in outdoor stuff, it's time to challenge yourself in indoor stuff as well, such as singing an acapella. xD Lol. Manage to get through that, then supper, and then bedtime.

Since we were out in the rain all day, the instructors gave us a opportunity to sleep in the MPH on our ponchos instead of inside our tents. We're fine and all because we don't have to pitch or unpitch the tents, but it was f-ing cold at night. D: Was shivering throughout the whole night. =( Haiz...

Day 4

After a night of shivers, woke up for PT. Did 4 sets of 10 counts of 5 BX after the standard 2 games. We did the Friendship Dance and the Squirrel and the Tree game. xD Quite lame, but enjoyable.

As we...walk to the left, as we walk to the right
As we walk, as we walk, as we walk all night
With a heel and a toe, and a half turn around
With a heel and a toe, and a new friend found

Then Bee Hoon for Breakfast at the Cook's House. Then some reflection time, and another photo taking session because our previous photo got corrupted xD Then we had Rock Climbing. We were supposed to do the Inverse Tower too, but it was raining then =( Awww....

We were given the choice of rafting back to Camp 2 instead of trekking back, but it was with a catch. We must purchase raft parts (pipes, barrels, paddles, ropes) and build the raft ourselves. To earn the money, we had to rock climb.

With 3 walls, 2 for Buddy Climb, and another for Solo Climb. We can earn $600 for reaching the top of the Solo Climb wall and $250 for reaching the top of the Buddy Climb wall. It's a panel by panel thing, so every panel you pass by, the amount earned increases. Haha. I did the Buddy Climb, and after that, I belayed everyone else.

Belaying is fun. ^^ Haha. We aimed for $3500, but we earned $4000 instead. xD And we didn't even reach the top of the Solo Climb wall, even though the other group did it twice. xP Haha.

Lunch. We were all in awe because it was the first full meal we had for lunch. The previous days' lunch were just bread and/or biscuits and/or muesli bars. =/ Haha. Like never see food before. xD

Then changed to our wet attire (again =.=) and we built our raft. Reminisence of S3 camp. Haha. Sqaure lashing and round lashing. =/ We finished building raft. Then it had to go through 3 test; Kick test, Shake test and Buoyancy Test. We passed all three. But the other group failed the buoyancy test because their barrel came off again and again. We lost a LOT of time because of this.

They were at the brink of giving up, but then we helped out because we don't wanna hike back. xP When everything is done, we set out back to Camp 2.

But after a few paddles, we were like, "Diaoz, so slow.... =.=" Haha. We were practically not moving because the drift is pushing us back and also into the channel. Then the instructors scolded us and stuff, and so we got towed all the way to Minah Bay. xD Damn fun kena towed whilst still on the raft. We were literally sitting in the water and moving fast on the water surface. A lot of people got leg muscle cramps because of the immense pressure of water pushing on your leg muscles. Haha. My booties was practically falling off. xD Haha...

After being towed back to Minah Bay, we continued rafting back to Camp 2 which is a lot closer than before. xD Damn fun. At least then, we found out we were actually moving, even though it's only a few millimeters every minute. xP

Raj: We'll make a sharp turn after the rocks.
Me:THIS IS NOT A CAR!!!

Reached the beach almost 7 o'clock with a welcoming commitee, cooking dinner by their campsite by the seaside where we were camping at during the first night. xD Lol. Dismantled the raft, washed the raft parts, collected our barang barang back from the safety boat all by 7.30.

Supposed to have Jetty Jump after rafting, but because of the long time taken to make the raft, it was cancelled. =( Nooo! It seemed so fun when other groups did it.... =(

Haiz. We went straight back to our store and we were all, "WHOA!" at the amount of food left in the store! xD Haha... We were starving ourselves when we left but now we had massive amounts of food for one night and one day left of camp. xP

Lol. Went to pitch our tents. The other groups were having dinner already. T_T Then we showered, then cooked our dinner. By then, the other groups finished already and was cleaning up their store.... Haiz...

We 'finished' our dinner and then time for bed. Haha. Ended up throwing away a whole pot of rice because everyone was full...

Haha. Since it was the last night, we had fun as well. Jun Cheng and Ridwan were 'shaking the tents' during dinner, making lots of noise. xD Doggy style, elephant style, giraffe style, and suddenly they "Baaa'!" from inside the tent. xD

Jun Cheng & Ridwan: Harder! Harder!
Rachel:They having sex? Where? I wanna join.

Day 5

Another cold night. We woke up late at 5.30, to find out the other tents were already unpitched and gone. xD Haha.

PT. Another 2 stupid games and then 2 sets of 5 BX, 15 counts each. We played the 'Various Versions of Pepsi Cola 1,2,3' game and the 'Hello Kitty' game, which I owned big time. xD Haha...

Then reflections during breakfast, then store clean up. Had to wash our tent parts, mesh tins and other stuff used in the store too. Took a while to do everything, especially finding out that we lost a lot of stuff. >.< Including a humungous blue tarp which we placed outside our store and suddenly disappeared. >.< Haiz... One poncho torn also. =/

So we negociated with various other groups to find our missing stuff. Haha. We even took a blue tarp which we found lying around by the campsite. =.= In the end, we found everything except for two water bottles and two water bottle covers. Had to pay for them. But our kind instructor gave us one new bottle and told us we do not need to pay for the torn poncho. In the end, total losses cost 70 cents, to be shared amongst 15 people. xD Haha.

Finished cleaning up everything by 11. By then some groups went for their Jetty Jump... =( We still lost our opportunity and still are depressed over it... =( Haiz... Then final reflections and sharing session. So sad, have to leave already....

By 12, everything was settled. Then we had a few minutes shopping time to shop for OBS suveniors, which I completely forgot about, so I didn't have to money to purchase any suveniors... =( Their shirts quite nice, but the notebook is uber nice... =( Awwww.... I so wanted it. xD

Haiz. Then final debrief. Then off, back to Punggol Jetty. Since there's a limited number of ferries, only certain amount of people can go at a time. We were sent off group by group. My group was the first few to leave, but Hasif's group was left behind. xD Haha.

Nevertheless, I waited for him at Punggol Jetty cuz his parents are sending me back home. xP Lol. And since my group didn't finish our food ration, we had to bring back home the food. So I had an extra load of extra food in my bag. T__T

Final Livingstone moments. We were f-ing surprised when we found out that Jun Cheng was actually 14 years old, and he's like the most muscular amongst us, with pecs appeal that can make any guy jealous. xD 14 years old! WTF!!

Jun Cheng: What's so hard to believe that I'm 14?
Me: And you still lied to us that you're 17. T_T
Jun Cheng: I can be mature what.
Me: You just look mature, but you're not.
Benny: Yea. *takes a deep breath* HARDER!!!
Pamela: O.O STOP IT PLS!!!

And Benny even joined in the game to cover his identity. =P Both from Nan Chiau High, but Benny is his senior. =.= Lol... Funny sia they all... Especially Benny, see his face already wanna laugh. xD

LIVINGSTONE!!!

Then it started to rain whilst waiting for Hasif. But when he reached, we left. But that was when the roller coaster ride began. xD His father's driving is damn bloody reckless la. F-ing scary if you were there. And he still can complain about a taxi driving recklessly behind his car. xD Lol.... He even drove past a red light.... T_____T

But his parents quite fun la. Quite funny. At least not lame like mine. xD But they very bastard sia. Which explains a lot about Hasif's character. xD Lol...

Shared experiences in the car. Apparently, first day he did bonding games, second day rafting when the MP came, and Inverse Tower at Camp 1. 3rd day was land expedition back to Camp 2. 4th day kayaking expedition from Camp 2 to Camp 2 with Jetty Jump... >.< So unfair...he got jetty jump, and no need to sleep on rocks at AGQ or do sentry duties.... He also told me that his damage cost per person is twice as much as my total damage cost for the group, cuz he lost 3 jackknifes and plenty of other stuff. xD He also bought an OBS shirt, which I think is exactly the same as the one Qamarul have. xP

He got 2 days of wet activities, I got 4... T_T Make that 5 since I got wet during washing up of store room equipment. xD Haiz...

Anyways, thanks for the ride... Wonder if they'll be safe during their Malaysia Trip with that reckless driving... T_T Lol...

--------------------------

FINALLY I'M DONE!! THAT TOOK A GOOD WHOLE DAY TO COMPLETE!!! *shifty eyes*

Lol. ^^ Word count: 12 full pages of almost 5000 words on Word. xD Wakakaka....
